Turning our world upside down for Christ one leader at a time!
In January the Lord relocated us in Athens, Georgia. It’s been an exciting yet challenging journey for our family of five. Over the past 30+ years I have had the privilege of walking with the Lord and ministering in various contexts across the globe. From being a youth pastor in California to a missionary in Australia. I have filled a wide variety of roles from mentor & consultant to pastors and leaders, to prayer & worship leader, and trainer of others, to seminar and guest speaker, and pastor and church planter. My gifts include leadership, wisdom, faith and exhortation. I feel my greatest contribution is through helping others (especially leaders), be and do all that God has for them. For this Barnabas Ministries was started.
It is said that Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith. He encouraged the believers in Antioch to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts (Acts 9:23). Barnabas was known as the Son of encouragement. The first he is heard of in the NT is when he sold a property and laid all the proceeds at the Apostles feet (Acts 4:36-37). From the beginning he was a man who demonstrated his faith not just with words but with action – which included being generous with all that God had given him. Next, he comes on the scene to sponsor Saul, the ex-persecutor of the church, when none of the other Apostles wanted to have anything to do with him (Acts 9:27). Barnabas was able to look beyond ones past failures to see their potential in Christ. Several years later, Barnabas launches into ministry in Antioch. He searches out and finds Saul in Tarsus, who soon after becomes Paul. They partner together in Antioch (Acts 11:22-30). Barnabas ultimately allowed Paul to surpass him, while he continued to do the stuff and to mentor other emerging leaders including John Mark.
The mission of Barnabas Ministries is to come alongside pastors and leaders, to journey with them and help them fulfill what God has called them to be and do, so they can turn their world upside down for Christ.
Our mission is accomplished through…
- Mentoring pastors and leaders
- Developing new ministries and resources as needed (especially prayer)
- Partnering with other ministries to have greater impact for the kingdom.
- Wholehearted commitment – all of me, for all of Him, all the time, everywhere!
- Risk taking faith – living on the edge of the impossible!
- Loving God – walking in an intimate partnership with Jesus!
Bless you heaps!
